This is Embers stuffed elephant who is named... ready for this... Sarah Palin. It was a suggestion from my mom and has caused a lot of funny quotes from Ember.

"Mommy, I put Sarah Palin in time-out."

"Mommy, Sarah Palin was sleeping in my bed last night but she kept falling out."

"I think Sarah Palin might need a band-aide."

And my favorite, "I think Sarah Palin is lost! (tears) I bet the coyotes ate her!!!"

Well, here we have Sarah Palin in a diaper, because according to Ember, she pooped on the floor. LOL!

You'd think since teaching reading is a huge part of what I do at work, this wouldn't be so fascinating to me. Maybe because she's my daughter, maybe because she's half the age I'm used to teaching, maybe it's because I am learning things about how children learn to read that can not be learned without working 1:1 (at least I don't think so...). Who knows, but here's Ember's reading progress in a month and a half. I think I'm going to try to get a monthly video. She's growing just as fast in math. She's starting to add numbers up to five without counting. Kind of neat to see this progression too.

Briar was super duper fussy and we discovered that she's stop crying if she stood on someone's face (had to be a face) and looked at this painting. Oh the things we do for our children!

Ember's 3rd birthday party. I got some adorable pics of her with her friends, but I'm not going to post pics of other people's kids. I think everyone had fun. Her favorite presents were a art computer game from Price and a tub of Play Doh and accessories that I can narrow down to being from 1 of 2 kids lol! She also got a Rainbow Dash My Little Pony, white board and markers, fairy costume, ball, 2 bubble toys and a sprinkler toy. She had grandma open most of the presents. She opened the first 3 and was done.

I made the cake. It is pieced together- no mold. Hard!! It looked okay and I learned a lot.

She adores this piano. Ember really didn't seem to care for this toy, and it's probably Briar's second favorite.

Today we got 45mph sustained winds with 60+ mph gusts and a dust storm. And then the power went out.
