Briar can get around pretty well all the sudden. I left her in her containment unit with two sides down. It's really a play mat with sides. Just more fun to call it the baby containment unit. Well, she is contained no more. She decided to check out the kitchen instead.

This was beyond entertaining. Briar was laying next to her cousin Ayla petting her head, feeling her ear, blowing raspberries, kicking things and making all sorts of noise. Poor Ayla looked like she wanted to get away the whole time. In a few months Ayla can get her back, hehe.

Bubbles!

Do I have the only baby who doesn't like bubbles? Cause I've never met one before. The smiles were from me making silly faces. She was looking at them like, "Ewww, what are those offensive little floatie things!? How gross!! Moooooooom, they're LANDING on me!"

"What the??"


"Stop it, mom!!"


"You are not stopping...I'm gonna...."


"Oh funny face!!"


Then I stopped the bubbles. She looked entirely too unhappy with them.

Briar tried her first actual baby food. Pears. She's already tried a lemon, banana, and a biter biscuit. But this was her first experience with baby food. She loved it! But wouldn't really let us feed her. She yelled at me every time I took her spoon away to "reload it." Then she would grab it from me and shove it in her mouth.

Now that Ember can read, she is just about obsessed with Starfall.com. She likes the fables and comics especially right now.

My mom got the girls 4th of July outfits at Cracker Barrel (which we have none of within a 300 mile radius) and within the first 2 hours of the 4th of July, both of them had to have their clothes changed. So we got no pics of her outfits that day.

Two for yesterday! And neither have to do with July 4. It was too windy for fireworks, though we didn't need them since our neighbors shot them off anyway. We just watched theirs.

This is a picture of our cat Sasha. It's just her head. :) Not too shabby for a 3 year old.

So, we need to get Briar drinking from something other than, well, me by mid August. We already know she's not into bottles, so this morning I picked up a bunch of different sippy cups for her to play with. She drank about an ounce of water from this one.

This is Ray, Mr. Ray to you. And he is Briar's buddy. They have not been apart all day long, lol. And she likes to sniff him. He doesn't smell like anything to me other than slobber !! Or MAYBE... that is the sound rays make and we just don't know it because they are underwater!
